Children have loads of fun at Christ Church with special groups for every age. It’s a place to laugh and learn, play and pray, and enjoy being in the presence of our wonderful, loving, God!
Children are welcome every Sunday morning. Usually they meet in their own groups, but we also meet all together as a church family for All Age services. During the year there are also some special events.
(under 5 years)
We explore the Bible through playing, singing, story and craft, learning about a loving, creator God. Sparks meet in the Hall.
(school years R – 6)
We start together with fun as we learn about God and meet with him through worship, drama, Bible stories, giving, puppets, prayer, quizzes and so much more! Then in smaller groups the children continue to explore and learn how to apply the Bible teaching in an age-appropriate way, including games and craft. Ignite meets in the Barn.
During the Week
(under 5s and parents/carers)
See the Family Life page for more information.
(school years 5 & 6)
Usually the first Tuesday of the month, 4:30pm-6:00pm. A Life Group for our older children. We play games, dig deeper into the Bible, hang out together and enjoy snacks and craft projects. Apprentice meets in the Barn.
Our Special Events for children are pretty special! They include...
An evening or afternoon for all the family, on 31st October.
An overnight stay at church in Feb/March for those in school years 4-6.
Four mornings in August with a great team of leaders and teenagers that make this the highlight of summer! You can get more information here between Easter and August.
We work in our local Primary Schools delivering assemblies and classroom support. We also run creative Prayer Space weeks across Abingdon.
